Winners and Finalists for 2001 Worldcon/NASFiC
Student Science Fiction Contest

On Saturday, September 1, 2001, the finalists and winners in the 2001 Student Science Fiction and Fantasy Contest were announced at a ceremony in Bucconeer's Davy Jones's Locker party suite at the Millennium Philcon, the 59th World Science Fiction Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Millennium Philcon, in conjunction with Baltimore Worldcon 1998, Inc., sponsored the fourth annual contest for the best short story with a science fiction or fantasy theme, the best science fiction or fantasy artwork, and the best science essay.  This contest was open to all students in elementary school (5th grade and below), middle school (6th through 8th grade) and high school (9th through 12th grade).  Over 300 students submitted entries.
